PFSO Training with Police Scotland

SecuriGroup works closely with the police services of the UK, and recently a Detective Constable from Police Scotland accepted an invitation to be a student on a Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO) training course organised by the company.

PFSO qualifications cover the security measures from the International Ship and Port Facility Code (ISPS Code) and enables qualified people to train other staff in general security awareness in the port and shipping environment with a focus on countering terrorism.

Students included our own SecurGroup staff, Nick, a Counter Terrorism Security Adviser from Police Scotland, and Forth Ports Personnel.

It is important that those who work together, train together. Building relationships between the organisations involved in any shared work helps to build communication links where information and best practice can be easily shared. Strong working relationships allow each organisation to benefit from each other's resources, knowledge and skills.
