Project Griffin: Staff & Client Training Days

In the first week of April, SecuriGroup worked in collaboration with Police Scotland and the Scottish Business Resilience Centre (SBRC) to provide a number of Project Griffin Counter Terrorism Awareness training sessions to more than 80 staff and clients in SecuriGroup Head Office. All course content was overseen and finalised by SecuriGroup Operations Director and the former Assistant Chief Constable in charge of co-ordinating Counter Terrorism for Scotland, Allan Burnett QPM BSc (Hons) FSyI.

With increased focus on terrorist activity, generated through recent high profile incidents, Project Griffin training is a valuable tool in the prevention and mitigation of critical situations. The information shared has been a very useful tool in spreading best practice security measures throughout the different sectors in which SecuriGroup is active.

Feedback from our property management clients has been positive, and we are very thankful to SBRC for their engaging mix of preventative guidance and wider awareness of the current threat.

SecuriGroup prioritises the development of our excellent people and the safety of our clients. By regularly sharing valuable safety information and facilitating topical and best-practice seminars on prevalent security risks, our security personnel remain vigilant and informed on evolving crime trends and the continued UK terrorist threat, ensuring the continuity and safety of our clients' operations.

The concurrent attack on Russia's St. Petersburg metro by a suicide bomber, on the heels of the Westminster lone actor attack, served as a harsh reminder for the necessity and value of counter-terrorist preparation.

The content of the Project Griffin training itself is highly confidential. Owing to the sensitive nature of the topic, and the classified materials used to illustrate the current threat, Project Griffin training can only be delivered through police services. The Project Griffin sessions we hosted were delivered in collaboration with Police Scotland and presented by a Detective Inspector on secondment with SBRC, DI Chris Lewis.

SecuriGroup and the SBRC have a long-standing relationship, illustrated by our Managing Director's position on the SBRC board and our years of sponsoring the SBRC parliamentary reception at Holyrood (below).

Feedback from both staff and clients has reflected both the 'eye-opening' nature of the information, the value of the information shared, and their gratitude to our partners SBRC for their engaging and instructive presentations.

Since 1999, SecuriGroup has been accredited to the Investors in People standard. This reflects our dedication to supporting our employees and making sure that they receive unparalleled levels of guidance and development opportunities.

As an organisation, we continue to move forward by investing in our people, retaining high levels of morale, and approaching every opportunity to improve our security effectiveness. Quality training and information sharing initiatives such as Project Griffin are invaluable in this regard.

We are proud to be recognised as an Investors in People organisation and remain committed to the continued happiness and progression of our incredible people.
